no change in background color

Hi,
I opened editor->settings->configure editor. Then for "normal text", I set a 
different color instead of default (for example black  instead of white). After 
clicking ok, nothing changed and when I went to check that again, I saw thatthe 
color is reset to white. Any idea about that?
