Alex,
thanks for your work ! Quality will prevail in the end. 

I have never tried the new and improved simplified IDEAl mode. Once
KDevelop is released we will all see what this is all about and maybe
some of the missing features of KMDI IDEAl mode can be re-added, if
there even are any.
