new file should open it?

When using kdevelop 3.2.2. there is one thing that bothers me.
I'm writing a c++ project but when I select "new file/ c++ source file) the 
file is not automatically opened. I think that should be the default, but 
until that happens, is there something I can do to make all new files open 
and appear when I create them?
