Newb question: how to include subdirectory when building source package?

Here's a pretty simple question.  I'm trying to build
a source package of my application using KDevelop. 
All source files and project files get into the
tarball okay, but the support files (eg graphics and
sounds, et al) are absent.  How do I tell KDevelop to
include these files when it builds the package?
