startin a gnome project

Hello ,
  I'm new bie user of kdevelopp , I would like to start a gnome project 
, can anybody  please point me to easy to use tutorials or links thanks
 I've started to build a simple gnome project , I get a " *** Exited 
with status: 2 ***" in the message window
