linking questions & static linking

> /usr/lib/libtest.so and /usr/lib/libtest.a
> you can link with /usr/lib/libtest.a (-l option is not needed).

I'm working in an automake project and I use the box labeled with
"Other" in the linker Flags tab of the Target Options of my executable
to specify:

/usr/local/ssl/lib/libssl.a

without -l option as you recomended but I get liking time dependencies
errors for the libssl symbols. Is ok the place I used to put the new
static librarie?
