Hi Ian,
as far as I understand, this is part of the organizational efforts for the KDE
3.2 release. Obviously a lot of preliminary build processes are to be
performed and validated. So this (partly) mandated the renaming and
restructuring.
Otherwise - KDevelop 3.0, formerly Gideon (I will truly miss this name) , is
stable enough in my eyes to step on to beta release. I presume, that all
renaming and restructuring is preliminary to this.

There has been a warning by Amilcar. But obviously (accidentally!!!) this was
issued in the kdevelop-devel list only (from where I had copied the main
information).

Now, you can always update the index.docbook and additional screenshots all by
themselves from the doc/kdevelop subdirectory in CVS. And hopefully there will
be actual versions of the user manual available on the KDevelop website _real
soon now_.
