Random GDB failure (again)

I haven't seen any response to the e-mail I sent below. Does no-one have any
idea what could be causing it?

Subject: Random GDB failure

Does anyone know why occassionally GDB refuses to work for me? I can be
using KDevelop happily for a couple of hours, editing code, compiling,
invoking the debugger, editing code again, etc, etc, and then... BANG!
GDB blows up with the following message displayed when I try to start
the debugger:

GDB message:
This GDB was configured as
"i386-redhat-linux-gnu"..."/home/tstebbens/wvr/debug/src/wvr": No such
file or directory.

Clicking on "OK" then produces the following message:

GDB message:
/home/tstebbens/wvr/logging/debug/src/"-fullname": No such file or
directory.

If I then don't click on the "Stop Debugger" button and try to start
the debugger again I get the following message:

GDB message:
No executable file specified.

I've done diffs on the project file before and after such a crash and
can find now obvious differences/problems. I haven't changed any
project settings from the defaults supplied when I set up the project.
The only way I can find to get the debugger to work again is to move my
source files to a safe place, delete the project directory, create a
new project, and re-add the source files: not very convenient.

Cheers,

Terry Stebbens.
