how to add a file to project

Gideon 3.0.0a5 is a bit old. Currently KDevelop (it's not Gideon named 
anymore) 3.0.0 beta 2) is about to be released, which comes with a 
better user manual.

Anyhow, to add a file to an existing (Automake based) project, you must 
use the Automake Manager. Select the subproject in question in the 
upper half of it, then in the lower half right-click on the target you 
want to add your files to and select add file. A dialog will pop up 
where you may add your sources.

BTW: You may want to have a look at chapter 12 of the the user manual on 
the KDevelop website (http://www.kdevelop.org/). This one contains a 
survey of Automake Manager.
