compiling CVS problem on Debian

I'm trying to compile latest CVS (yesterday). I ran head on to this
problem:

checking for Qt >= 3.0.5... yes
checking whether to build the compat lib... no
checking for Berkeley DB >= 3... configure: error: no - please install
Berkeley DB >= 3

I'm sure I've just install the newest version of berkeley DB 4.2.5 on
this machine. 
Where does the configuration script expect the DB to be located
especially on Debian?
