newbie - configure problem

Hello ,
Running build->configure gives the following error:

checking for mcopidl... configure: error: The important program mcopidl was 
not found!

Please check whether you installed KDE correctly.
failed

What can be the problem ?
I had installed KDE from rpm on  a RH linux using RPM installations.
