you can greatly help: configure gideon with "--enable-debug" and send a 
backtrace for each crash to this list. That way gideon will become more 
stable.

Compiling KDevelop 2.x for KDE 3.1 is very easy, just follow the instructions 
on www.kdevelop.org.
