keyboard shortcuts do not work with gideon alpha

Hi,

for some unknown reason the keyboard shortcuts CTRL+V, CTRL+C for 
pasting and cutting do not work at all for me with the gideon alpha
release. using the menu item for cutting and pasting works fine. is this
a known problem or is there something wrong with
my installation ??
another strange thing that happens is that when i press CTRL+V the
marked text sometimes gets inserted into the wrong file (i am editing
currently filexxx, but the text will be inserted into fileyyy). Very
strange !

any ideas ?
