data files in my project

I'm not sure but have you tried with the properties of that file?

Select the file in kdevelop with the secondary button of the mouse and go to 
properties, then check the option intall and write the path to the file when 
installed:

/usr/local/var/myproject/myfile

Again, I am not sure
