I have found that for non-gui parts of projects, if you don't might
programming to the lowest common denominator, libraries such as ACE do a
greate job (specially threading and socket event handling).

What is everyone using for cross-platform GUI's?

I have used the earlier version of wxWindows (MS windows oriented - because
the project lead was more a MS windows person), but ran into lots of trouble
with fonts and worse, management of scroll bars.

I'm now looking a Java front ends.

Is Qt viable cross platform? What about hand-helds?

Dirk
