Newbie Questions re Solaris and KDevelop

Some time ago I tried to compile 1.1.2 with CC 4.x, but it didn't work at all 
(it has no ANSI C++) and 5.0 has lots of bugs. So I only use gcc-2.95.2 and 
all the other gnu tools although it probably makes KDE slower. 
But still I had problems with the configure scripts and the compiling. And 
since we are planing to have only linux boxes as work places and the suns as 
severs anyway...

Actually I heard it from someone who heard it on the chat... or something 
like this ;-)
But I'll meet him on the weekend and will ask for further details.
