Install - QImage::color: Index n out of range

I'm brand new to kdevelop (and this mailing list), so apologies is this
is an obvious question (or if mailed to the wrong address). 
I just installed kdevelop (from RH 7.0 RPM kdevelop-1.2-12 ). On start
up I receive a series of message lines:

QImage::color: Index n out of range
QImage::color: Index n out of range
	.
	.
	.
then a core dump. Has anyone seen this? Any ideas about what I'm doing
wrong?

Does this mailing list have a searchable archive so I could look for
this stuff first before bothering people?
