Unpack update file

Hi there,

I've got a kind of stupid question. I wanted to update my kdevelop 
enviroment from a 0.3.1 Version to the latest Version 1.4. So I finally 
managed to download the file kdevelop-1.4.1.tar.bz2. No I've the problem 
that I don't know how to unpack this file. I tried to unzip it, but it 
didn't work. What kind of file ending is .bz2? Can somebody help me.
