I think you have this, too, but you don't have the libs. I don't use any 
distros and compile from source. Much easier to solve installation problems 
and being up-to-date.

There are many documents in the net about howto set-up XFree with RENDER.
search dot.kde.org for "AA" or "anti aliased".
