Designer and Kdevelop - one last question

I'm almost frightened to post another question on the subject, but I will 
anyway. 

I now have the inheritance problem solved. I had used the base class instead 
of the derived class in main.cpp.

Referring to the function stepUp() in myClass (see previous posts), I want to 
update an LCD display on my dialog. Normally something like 
LCDNumber2->display(23) works, but not in the present case. LCDNumber2 is a 
pointer generated by Designer.

Put me out of my misery, what's the answer?
