Depends on how you got kdevelop1.4 -
if you ftp the tar files then use "diff -Naur oldKdevelopDir NewKdevelopDir > 
kdevelop.patch"  - requires a copy of the original
For cvs just "cvs diff -u > kdevelop.patch" in the kdevelop top level dir.

You are right - a listbox would be much better than a popup :-)

I'll pass on this - hopefully someone else can give you pointers here
