Subdirs while using CVS

Hi,

KDevelop 1.4.1

To make the my project more readable, I want to bundle all my .xpm files in
one subdir.

If I use the Add Folder in the files-list, the folder is created.
I can put files in it, but cannot add them to the repository.

If I try to add the subfolder to the repository first, commit will use the
CVSROOT environment variable, instead of the cvsroot as specified in the
project options.

Setting the CVSROOT variable ito the same value as the projects one, results
in an error:
cannot add special file .

I then added the subdir to the cvs externally. (ie using classic cvs add ...)

When starting with a clean Automake -> configure, the program complains of
not having a propoer makefile in the subdir/CVS directory.

Can you help me on this?

regards
johan
