including all files from an existing project

Greetings,

Suppose I already have all the source files for a project begun by someone
else.  Perhaps I want to begin helping someone else work on their project,
or I want to explore how someone else has handled a particular problem.
All the files are already in existence, but there is no corresponding
kdevprj file.  I want to import the whole thing into kdevelop.  I can
create a new project in kdevelop and then go to 'Project -> Add existing
files' and manually add them one or a few at a time, but is there a way to
import an existing structure in its entirety?  If not, would it be possible
to add that capability to a future release?
