It means might have warts, lack of polish, the odd bug. The word "beta"
isn't license to ship something completely non-functional or otherwise
virtually unusable... for that you use the term "alpha" :-)

It's to avoid exactly these kinds of problems that I am staying far away
from the KDE2 and KDevelop2 alphas...
