Thank you for your reply, however, I'm still having problems running the 
script. I get the same repeated error for each line in the kdevdlg file.

Bareword found where operator expected at myWidget.kdevdlg line 1, near "// 
KDevelop"
        (Missing operator before KDevelop?)
