Upgrading KDE from 1.1 to 1.1.2

Hi,

I have RedHat 6.0.  I just tried upgrading from KDE 1.1 to 1.1.2.  now I get
a nice grey screen where I used to have a graphical login in prompt.

Anyone got any ideas where to start before I try a reinstall??
