Debugging MDI projects

Look in directory proj_name/proj_name/.libs. This should contain the program
you want to debug.

Select Debug/Start (other)/Debug another executable from the menu and point the
debugger at this program.

OR
try the latest version of 1.2 in cvs (cvs tag KDEVELOP_1_0), which knows
how to deal with libtool created binaries.
