I just compiled beta3 last night and was able to load in the project,
navigate around the files and so on. It didn't crash!

Good idea but that's not it :(
There must be something else since it does seg fault. I discovered it when
I created a KDE project for the first time. All I do is bring up the
project and let it sit for a moment then it blows.

Hi all,
I had the same problem too: have you checked if you had perhaps changed your
user rights/ownings in any directory/file used by Kdevelop, in particular in
your /home/.../.kde ? It happened to me to had worked (stupidly) around it
when I was root... then when I launched Kdevelop beeing another user,
Kdevelop couldn't write inthere (I didn't understand WHERE it needed to
write exactly, very probably somewhere in .kde/config/). It "went away", no
segmentation fault or other error messages.
Another bug to fix (I think) (only with RH6.0 ? Can someone test this on
other platforms?):
I create an empty C++ project, than I add a class (MyClass for instance...).
Then I try to add a member function or variable to that class... sometimes
Kdevelop crashed, sometimes didn't... after a while I noticed that it
crashed because I had launched by a link on my desktop (gnome), and only in
this situation.
Bye, Giorgio
