Configure options (again)

Wouldn't it be nice to have some feature where one could have the configurescript check for
different files and if they exist, define that in config.h? Let's say I write a prog which
needs /dev/tty5 for something special :) I add "/dev/tty5" in some box somewhere in KDevelop
and this gets added to the configurescript.. which if that file exist, adds "#define HAVE_DEV_TTY5 1" to config.h!
