How to install multiple files

I have been using Kdevelop 3.1 & 4.0 for months and I would like to thank
all people who made it.
It is still a very good program, even if it had to stop now ! (but please go
on)

There is one thing I don't know how to do with kdevelop :

As I develop a game using several hundreds of files for sprites, I don't
know how to
make them install without modifying by hand the Makefile.am file, which
Kdevelop
change when he rebuilds them. It is easy to make installable a few files,
but I cannot
do it easily if they are to numerous.

Is there a way to make a bunch of files or a directory as an installable
group ?
