Error with libpng

Good day everyone.
I try to compile the 0601 cvs and I am getting a bunch of PNG errors.  I notice
the ./configure gave me an libpng = no.  I know that Sandy had provide a work
around for the last one (I think) but was wondering if this could be fix for
the future release of cvs.

If I can fix the problem from my side, let me know.

My system is SUSE 6.0 and QT 1.44.
