That's what you'd expect, but in this case the file is included in the .qrc and thus not installed itself but rather incorporated into the executable one way or another. At least I cannot find any other trace of where it'd go otherwise.
And at least in that case it seems that the runtime parsing is cached somewhere which requires a version bump to be refreshed.
