That handled most of my settings (sadly not the shortcuts, grrr) but not the sessions. Suits me, in fact; it means that cache directories aren't shared in practice.
FWIW, KDevelop5 doesn't see my open KDevelop4 sessions either, whereas KDevelop4 does see running KDevelop5 sessions (though it shows the wrong session name).

BTW, what is type 110 from

kdevplatform.language: Cannot load a top-context from file "~/.cache/kdevduchain/kdevelop-{a07f36a3-b637-4598-a0d7-2cf7c81d7b6c}/topcontexts/3371" - the required language-support for handling ID 110 is probably not loaded
