lie somewhere in kdelibs. It is also clear from my Google searches, a great
many people, are starting to see PaxHeader.number showing up explainable in
things they are doing. --Perhaps like me they upgrade their OS one too many
times and something unorthodox got placed on their system. I will research
how KArchive does it magic and see if I can find a solution at the OS level

However, given that, I do believe it is a BUG, when a PaxHeaders.number
directory is produced is a Kdevelop 4.x.y

Please refer to "snapshot3.png"
Creating a project, *Project => "New From Template"*, that happens to also
produce PaxHeaders.number folder, sometimes, as in the case of "Category
Qt", "Project Type Graphical" what initially ends up in the Projects (see
snapshot3.png) is the content of PaxHeaders.number folder eg. qtgui.kdev4
which is totally unusable. The solution is then to find the folder the in
which project was generated eg. qtgui then through the menu

*Project=>"Open/Import Project..."*

and select the <name>.kdev4 (eg. qtgui.kdev4) file (Notice from the
snapshot3.png, PaxHeaders.18996 is a sub-folder)

>From that point everything works as expected and you can happily remove the
PaxHeaders.number from you system without any problems to your development
process within Kdevelop.

A concern is you have other parts of the system using templates, that could
potentially generate PaxHeaders.number subfolders where kdevelop 4.x.y
would fail to operate correctly as show is this particular example.

I will look to see if I can discover what is causing KArchive to produce
PaxHeaders.number and offer a fix at the OS level, but I think that this
kdevelop 4 needs to correctly address the issue what it the proper way to
handle a PaxHeaders.number generation
