I guess a simple deletion and re-creation of the builddir would suffice to build kdevelop or any other cmake project on such an upgraded system. Xmake records the absolute paths of various libraries, so when you replace them with others then you need to run cmake with a clean cache. The same probably applies to your kasten problems.
