Releasing 4.4.1, branching 4.5 (with soft feature freeze)?

Hey all,

as discussed at the sprint, we want to release a 4.4.1 sooner rather than 
later. So I'd like everyone to take a look at the current bug reports and fix 
anything you can. Also sift through your patches to master from last week and 
see whether there is anything in there that should be backported to 4.4.

I'll create 4.4.1 on friday.

Now, with the huge amount of changes in master, and the tons of new features 
in there, I'd personally say we should also branch off 4.5 already and turn on 
a soft feature freeze. I.e. we should concentrate on polishing what we have 
there, namely file/project templates, unit tests and anything else that is 
new.
