Why is "Show uses" sometimes so slow?

Maybe I'm wrong, but to me it seems that when I search for uses, KDevelop 
scans _all_ files, even those where the declaration isn't imported. This might 
be due to the availability of forward declarations, but if this is the case, 
do these files get a lower priority?
