Providing some KDevelop documentation

Maybe I can write what I know about one or two of them, and you guys
can fill in some more?

I just couldn't figure out, for example, what tools like 
  statistics
  binary filter
  checksum
etc are actually supposed to do. For example, in checksum I simply
can't seem to enter anything...

Any help from the authors of these tools would be excellent.
