source formatter settings usability

Hey all,

imo the source formatter settings has a really bad usability bug:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=230472

what I thought was a bug, is actually a "feature" - the formatter settings are
applied on a per-mimetype basis. And there are apparently two distinct
mimetypes for c++ headers and c++ source files (and again two more for c
files).

Any suggestions on how to improve that?

My only idea right now (that would not require new API) is coupling mimetypes
somehow. I.e. hardcode that c++-hdr is the same as c++-source ... Same for
c...

Or jump through hoops and redesign the whole dialog to somehow make it
possible to make it better useable. How I have no idea...

Bye
