Well, we should value the visitor time :P and all the time they spend
looking at the visits per hour is time they are wasting...

Is it? I think we should put on the front page only the things the new
user is looking for. If someone wants more information we can provide
it somewhere else.

No, it is not a matter of taste, we are part of KDE and we should
provide the same look&feel as the whole KDE. I don't like these
margins either, but I think that unification is more important than
that. Maybe you can discuss this with them.
