It is called use-highlighting, and is implemented in kdevplatform/plugins/contextbrowser/contextbrowserplugin.cpp. However I cannot reproduce this problem. There is still some casual problems with highlighting in kate that may be causing this, try closing + re-opening the editor view. Greetings, DAvid
