What is the status of the KDE3 branch ?

Hi all,

The KDevelop project would like to release a "KDE independent" version
of KDevelop (3.4.2) with some minor feature improvements and many bug fixes.

But some off this stuff requires us to add a couple of strings. Is that 
allowed at this stage ?
