3.4 First Impressions (repeat)

I just downloaded and build 3.4 and it looks nice! Quite a few pet
peeves of mine are gone (poor colors in FindInFiles toolview, unwanted
toolsviews (such as diff) no longer pop up, etc). Nice work!!!

Two small hiccups:

 - I can't seem to show text in the toolbars

- in the OpenRecentProject menu one of the entries is listed just as a
box (e.g. a [] which is most likely a non-printable char)

What's
the status of development now? Is all new code to go into 4.0? Or are
updates to 3.4 still OK (i.e. code will be transferred into 4.0)?

I
was thinking of getting my feet wet with KDevelop development by adding
a feature that I have longed for: a keyboard shortcut for "next item"
in the FindInFiles toolview.
