What about all the interfaces? I can find KDevProjectFolderItem working with 
QDir and KDevProjectFileItem working with QFileInfo. 

Is this supposed to stay like this? 

I mean the ProjectItemContext is using these classes and we would not be able 
to have remote projects, right?
