I recently saw that, but at least in combination with the new split-mode
this had an even worse bug: I couldn't close the 2nd view. I closed the
file that was shown in the 2nd view and the close-icon didn't disappear.
Clicking it again didn't do anything and IIRC the splitter was removed
too...

But that reminds me of something: It would be nice if the splitter of
the new split-view had a little more contrast, i.e. make it a bit
thicker and put a dark color on it.
