IMHO kdevelop is right now getting stable and "production-ready", so IMO 
rewriting would have the effect that we have a working kdevelop again maybe 
in one or two years, after which bug fixing and fine tuning can start...

But refactoring != rewriting, and refactoring is usually a good thing.
