overview of the kdevelop 4 project models

Hi,

Would somebody who understands how it's all supposed to work be willing to put 
together an overview of how KDevelop's project models are supposed to work?  
I'm not getting very far in my automake support work or my version control 
support work and could really use a bit of guidance.
