This should be fixed in both HEAD and KDE_3_2_BRANCH now. 

To get away from this:
Close KDevelop. Open your kdeveloprc file (typically: ~/ kde/share/config/kdeveloprc) and remove "Style=Checked" from it. Restart KDevelop. 

As for why we load KUIViewer instead of Qt-Designer: that's a bug in KDevelop.
