I have KDevelop set so when I hit tab it automatically applies the code 
formatting rule I have configured.  I would tell you how to do it, except, I 
don't recall how I did it.  I suggest you try the documentation, the FAQ (I 
don't believe the answer is in the FAQ) then, if you don't find the answer, 
try the user mailing list.

I'm not trying to be difficult, I simply don't recall how I set it to work 
this way.  I do see that you spelled Emacs correctly :-)  I asked the exact 
same question about a year ago.
