Summary: Opening file refuses to open remote file
           Product: kdevelop
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Compiled Sources
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: kdevelop-devel at kdevelop.org
        ReportedBy: mail at sacu.de

Version: 3b1 (using KDE Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources

File -> open refuses to open files i.e. via ftp:// or http:// telling me, that i can only open local files.

Using File-Selector i can successfully open remote files in katepart and qEditor.

Using remote files is interessting, if i want to hotfix a file on a FTP-Server or if i want to transfer partial content from a local file to a remote file. Consider that KDevelop supports developing PHP-Scripts.

I would classify this as a bug, since one part of the program (File->Open-Dialog) disables me to do something, that another part of the program (File-Selector) can do fine.
